Take your taste buds on a culinary journey to South Africa! In this flavorful and hands-on class, you’ll learn to make juicy, spicy Peri Peri Chicken, South Africa’s beloved flame-grilled dish. We’ll pair it with comforting pap (a traditional maize porridge) and perfectly seasoned roasted vegetables. To finish, you’ll enjoy a sweet treat of Custard Creams served with tea — a cozy and nostalgic way to end the evening. Whether you’re new to South African cooking or looking to connect with your heritage, this class offers bold flavors, fun techniques, and a taste of home.

Custard Creams with tea

Classes run time from 1 to 2 ½ hrs depending on guest arrival 

Guests must arrive 15 minutes before class start time. Any guests arriving 15  minutes past class start time will not be admitted with no refund. No leftovers will be allowed to be taken home. You will work in groups of four. 

Corpus Christi Cooking Club recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please check with Corpus Christi Cooking Club  before attending the class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class. Each guest will get a generous taste of the dish.  

  • You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class

  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back 

  • Aprons will be provided

Some portions of the class will be done before guests arrive  in order to ensure that the class finishes on time. This is a demo with hands-on elements.  At the end of this class you will receive a recipe card so you can try out your newfound skills at home!
